Come celebrate summer, North American style!
A summer breeze, hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill, a game of frisbee, handheld fireworks... if you're yearning for the summer holiday traditions of days past, this is your chance to come relive the fun! If you're new to the experience, come see it for the first time!
The beautiful Onogami Onsen Park is located just a 4-minute walk to the river from the Onogami Onsen Station located on the JR Agatsuma line (a train from Takasaki comes in at 1:32pm... perfect timing!) Alternatively, for drivers you'll find the park along the Agatsuma river after a serene countryside drive down the lush green Route 353. The Beisia located on Route 353 (near Route 17) can serve as an easy and convenient place to pick up food for the potluck.
This is a potluck-style event, so bring food to share! GAJET will be providing the grill set/grilling supplies, some disposable utensils and some condiments, but please bring meat or veggies to cook on the grill, side dishes/salads, desserts, drinks, or anything else you like!
Additionally, in efforts to be environmentally friendly and reduce waste, please bring your own reusable dishware and cutlery from home if you can! We will have a place to wash dishes there.

Hello Chubu ALTs!
Join us for a classic night on the town with dinner and a movie! On Friday, June 28th we will be watching The Great Gatsby. Then after taking a gander at the opulence and luxury of the roaring twenties, we will indulge in the finest food court fare this side of the rising sun!
For now, the times are tentative due to the fact that the Keyaki Walk theater has yet to post the movie schedule for that Friday. However, based on the previous week's Friday schedule, Gatsby screens at 5:15PM. The Chubu reps will meet you in front of the theater at this time.
As far as cost goes, regular movie tickets are 1800 yen, but if you sign up for a membership card the ticket price is discounted to 1500 yen and further discounted to 1000 yen every Friday you use it thereafter. This is a good investment for anyone who wants to view Man of Steel, Hunger Games 2, etc. on the big screen in the coming year.
And if you can't make it to the movie, please still feel free to join us for dinner. If the movie screens at 5:15PM, we will likely be set to eat dinner at 8:00PM, so we'll meet at the food court on the second floor around then.
We will keep you updated on the time schedule, but for now let's just say we are truly looking forward to some good eats and literary adaptation treats with great company!

Kusatsu Onsen will hold its two-day walking event again this July.
On the first day, participants will travel a course that offers a spectacular experience of the two-thousand-meter Mt. Shirane blossoming with dicentra flowers. Take a ride on a cable car to savor the magnificent scenery and alpine plants, bathed in the cool breezes of the plateau.
The second day takes you on a course that travels the town around Kusatsu Onsen, Sainokawara Park, and Shinaki Dam.
Each day offers three different course lengths, making this an activity accessible to people of all fitness levels and ages.
Don’t forget to stop by Kusatsu Onsen to immerse yourself in Japan's most famous hot spring and melt your cares away!
