Does anyone know of any voluntary work?

Hi there,
I'm interested in volunteer work, particularly at special needs schools. Does anyone have any ideas of where I should start looking?

Hey Amy,

Volunteering in Japan is probably one of the more difficult tasks to accomplish in your time here. I have been looking for opportunities for months and my searches have been much less than successful.

If you want some ideas though these are things I've thought of in the last month:
-Start your own community group [teaching English for example] and get to know people in your community. After that maybe you will find more opportunities to your liking.
-Find places that you know would love volunteers. I am still looking in my area, but some people have found success with orphanages in their local towns. If you can think of a place in your home country that would have loved a helping hand, most likely in Japan you will find the same thing. Don't expect these places to reach out to you, you are going to have to reach out to them.
