Silver colored PSP-1000IS with all the standard features. With a memory stick you can play music and video (have software to convert movies), play games, look at pictures, and browse the internet. Games and movies are available in a miniDVD format called UMD at really good prices. Also since the PSP is region free you can use games from all regions, and change your system language to English/Japanese (and other languages). Most games have English too! Also, there are some Japanese and Kanji learning software available (but I never tried them). Battery lasts for about 3 hours using full power, even longer if you're just playing MP3's and turn off the screen and wireless (about 12 hours). If you want to add new features you can buy a GPS to use it as a satnavi in your car; and a mini camera for taking photographs and recording video (all retailing at about 6000yen each).
FEATURES:
MP3 player
Games Console
Photoviewer
Movie Player
Internet Browser (wireless)
Internet Radio (wireless)
LARGE 4.3-inch widescreen LCD

haha, no kidding...
this sounds like an advertisement for a dying handheld platform if there's no price listed.
OK - All the questions answered!
Woah, some tough questions! OK, I just bought the latest PSP-2000. I wanted it so I can use skype which is not available in the old version. So, I'm looking for 7,500yen for my old PSP with a Logitec heavy duty case, power cables, usb data and power cable, all with its original packaging in excellent condition. So, yes the older PSP-1000 cannot use the TV-tuner, and it doesn't have skype. It does however work with the GPS (which I don't have and costs 6,000yen). I believe it may also be neccessary to buy seperate map software to work with the GPS, so you could be looking at an extra 1man investment. So, I hope that satisfies your questions, and I hope you think the price is fair!
PSP Skype
You may know this by now but Skype won't work on a Japanese PSP(yet). Either way you can upgrade to the PSP OFW 3.90 on your old psp anyway. (you may have to adjust the region)
Following that just load custom firmware (avalible online), and away she goes. Ive been moding all my students' PSP's for a while now with no problems. This also allows them to play region restricted games, Manhunt 2 etc.
They'll love you for it.
