Re-Contracting and Returners Conferences - Myths Dispelled!

I heard there are a lot of conflicting rumors about the Re-Contracting and Returners Conferences, and I hope to dispel them. Unfortunately, the official letters have not been sent to the BOEs, though we hope they will be approved and sent out soon. I will post an official letter on this site once it has been approved. Read on for more info:

This year, CLAIR canceled the Tokyo Re-Contracting Conference and has asked the prefectures to hold their own. Additionally, as usual, we will hold the Returners Conference.

Both conferences will be held on the same day (Friday, June 13th) on the same floor of the kencho (TBA).

The Re-Contracting portion of the conference will be for all re-contracting JETs. It will be all day (about 9:30 to 4:00), and will include presentations on things such as classroom discipline, broadening your experiences while on JET, cross-cultural communication, tactics for learning Japanese, etc.

Lunch will not be provided, so it is requested that you bring your lunches or eat in the kencho cafeteria.

The Returners portion of the conference will be held in the afternoon only (after lunch), and will cover things like claiming your pension refunds and things to do to prepare for leaving. It will also be a chance to hand in any supplemental materials for your successors.

damn... talk about cut

damn... talk about cut backs.

the 県庁 should start extorting money from all these hostess clubs. hell, they should open up a prefecture run pub, pachinko or eikaiwa school.

it's crazy how much money is spent that doesn't circulate back to the government.
