South KoreaSubmitted by Amy Gladeye on Fri, 2008/05/30 - 13:52.
How do! I'm travelling to Seoul in July and wondered if anyone has any tips/can suggest anything special that I shouldn't miss (only got 3 full days). Also if anyone has a travel book that I could borrow that would be ace! Cheers! |

The DMZ is no doubt one of the big attractions. Its only about 2 hours out of Seoul. If you reaserch it out you can get to a place called Panmunjeon. It's the one part of the boarder that you can 'cross' to North Korea. The reason to check it out now is that the tours bookout way in advance and they close sections of the DMZ off at certain times.
If you're interested in kicking it with Kim Jong-il, you can take a train from Dorasan Station (at the boarder) all the way to Pyongyang in North Korea.
But if you're on a US passport you may want to check what areas are off limits to you. North Korea and some parts of the DMZ are a no-go. I wouldn't trip about a travel book either as you can't do that much in three days the internet will be sweet.
PS* go with empty suitcases the shopping in Seoul kicks ass.
