First Prize:
"The Nishigawa Bon Odori Dance" by Arthur Lim Banes (Nara)

Second Prize:
"Nagano Snow Monkeys" by Alexander Laws (Gunma)
caption: "One of the older snow monkeys at Jigokudani Koen in Nagano. We went with a Gunma JET trip in March of 2008. The monkeys all have their own personalities and on that snowy day they were really enjoying the onsen."

Pschhhh - you sooooo should've gotten 1st place, Alex! Seriously, I love looking at your pictures and I think they could easily make the JET calendar only using your photographs from this past year. You're an amazing photographer whom I steal from often, but it's nice to see you get some of the public recognition you deserve;) For all of you who haven't seen Alex's labor of love, check out his photo blog website at: http://www.photoblog.com/AlexanderLaws/ . It gives a great view of some of the amazing experiences to be had in Japan as well and shows just how talented Alex really is.
