**ATTENTION AMERICANS** HOW DO WE VOTE?Submitted by phill on Thu, 2008/09/04 - 08:50.
This is probably the most important election in the history of the United States... maybe. I have spoke to a number of people about how to send in our votes from overseas. Many people have tried to register online but have received no response and instructions on how they will be voting this time around. When I first voted in Japan it was very easy process and the info was immense... now there is nothing. Anyone have any info? Thanks click on the pic and get in the know |

State by state
hey phill yea to vote from overseas you have to send in your absentee ballot. Im not sure but I think the instructions depend on the state. For example, to vote absentee in Nebraska, I have to write a letter to Nebraskas secretary of state requesting an absentee ballot before October 27th. Once I receive my absentee ballot, I have to send it back to them and they have to receive it before 5pm on election day. So seeing how none of this was helpful to you as I dont think you are from Nebraska I think you will find all the necessary information here http://www.vote.nyc.ny.us/absentee.html under by mail absentee voting.

If you are permanently ill or disabled, you have the right to receive an Absentee Ballot for each subsequent election without further application. Simply file an application with your board of elections containing a statement which describes the particulars of your illness or disability. The Board will review the facts stated, and if satisfied, will mark your registration record.
