Canadian Embassy newsletter, JETSET

Programme Coordinator, Kevin Meek from CLAIR sent me this note from the Canadian Embassy to pass on to everyone. This may only be relevant to Canadians, but I do believe anyone is welcome to sign up.

    Hi there,

We are the team that puts together the Canadian Embassy newsletter, JETSET. We are also responsible for the Canadian Nationality Group. We are having trouble locating all the Canadians that have come to Japan on JET, and are requesting assistance from CLAIR to reach out to all of you. We want you to be aware of the network that you are apart of.

Firstly, The JetSet newsletter is a collection of submissions from Canadian JETs working across Japan. There is not much theme but we are accepting articles pertaining to personal experiences, adjustment stories, quirky or interesting situations of culture differences, and just anything you feel that readers might be better off knowing. We also have some people writing on Japanese culture and media, for those who are very intuned with that aspect of Japanese culture. Anything is a go! We are always looking for contributors, so if you were wanting to write something for the next edition, please let us know of what your article will be about!

There is no set format, as everything is free style and of free opinion. It does not have to be research based.

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter and haven`t already, please send an e-mail to canjet2001@yahoo.ca with your name and [email] address.

Finally, we would like to remind you to register with the Canadian Embassy so as they know of your whereabouts for the duration of your stay in Japan. If you haven’t already, follow this link:

If you need to change or update your profile with the Embassy, please email tokyo-cs@international.gc.ca . You must include your full name and birthday to update your profile, and indicate your changes.
