2008 Harvest (WINE) Festival

2008/11/15 - 10:30
2008/11/16 - 15:30
Event Information:

It's never to early to mention this. This event is held every year rain or shine at Coco Farms in Ashikaga.

Everyone pays a fee (2,000) to enter and will receive a Harvest Kit. Each Harvest Kit contains the following:

A Harvest Festival Commemorative Wine Glass, A Festival Member’s Badge, and a Bottle Exchange Ticket that can be exchanged for either a Bottle of Wine and Corkscrew, OR a Bottle of Sparkling Grape Juice and a Bottle Stopper.

There are chefs available preparing various cuisines but I recommend you make it into a picnic. Bring a blanket and food and grab a spot on the mountain.

Official times are from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm on Saturday, November 15th and Sunday, November 16th. A shuttle (tour bus) runs from Ashikaga station to the event for 300 yen one way. I recommend you do not drive.

Event Location:

Coco Farm and Winery in Ashikaga, Tochigi

Wine Day

I'm in for the sunday!

WINE FEST-TASTIC

Quite possibly the best event of the year!
.
Enjoy the scenery, the company, the fine cheeses and did I mention the wine? Must not forget the wine (and for those teetotalers among us, the sparkling grape juice.) Come one, come all and enjoy a day (or 2) of drinking the fruits of, well, other people's labor.
.
The event starts at 10:30, but the earlier you arrive, the better chance you have of not having to sit on a slope while imbibing (hard to navigate for sure.)

GAJET at the Wine Festival!

Hi Everyone!

Sean here, I'm the official GAJET representative for this event this year. I'll be arriving early with the GAJET tarp to try to get a good spot. Since I live in the Agatsuma mountains and have to get an early start, I've worked out a schedule that gets us to Ashikaga station just before 10:30 (the starting time of the wine festival). The schedule is below, I'll be waiting to meet people in Takasaki Station at 9:15am inside the station area by the trash cans and vending machines (heading towards the shinkansen section). I cannot leave the ticket area, but if you can't find me call or email me on my cell phone (090-2171-4719 / s_e_a_n_07@docomo.ne.jp). For the other departure points, please meet us on the train!

I'm dere!

I am there!

Just a reminder that the food there could be a little expensive. The cheese they sold last year was some what expensive, so don't forget you can always pop into the supermarket the day before and buy stuff to bring to the festival.

I'll see you all there.

?Sat. or Sun.?

Sean, will you be @ the station on Sat. or Sun.? Or both days? Maybe I missed where you noted that.

WINE FEST LOST AND FOUND

Amidst the debauchery and imbibing that occurred, there were some "casualties."
Found: large blue tarp. It wanted a ride to Maebashi, so we brought it with us.
Lost: Cynthia Leon's backpack. Anyone find it? Cynthia, did you get it back?
