Don't think you'll be getting the stimulus check if your sole source of income was tax-exempt JET salary.

I filed my taxes in August. I had a federal payment (which I paid on time in April), but received a state refund and the stimulus check. Both arrived in October via direct deposit. HOWEVER, some checks were late and a notice was sent to the mailing address on record providing a number, etc. Check with whomever takes care of your mail. The next option would be to check the IRS site and/or call them.

Why did you owe federal taxes? Was there non-exempt income? I ask because I thought the exempt income wasn't eligible for the stimulus and I didn't get a check myself.

last year was my first year on JET so I had income earned in the US from January to July of 2007. After filling out my taxes, I owed nothing and it was calculated that I should receive a tax return/refund. I havn't received the stimulus payment either yet. I should receive it via direct deposit so I don't think they would mail it...

I got mine around October 31, but I didn't file until September or October.

A notice was mailed out providing a date for expected receipt of one's stimulus check (my stimulus check and State refund were deposited around the same time.)
If one's stimulus check was not received by the date given, the following number was provided:

1-888-234-2942

You may need a notice number and notice date when calling, so I would check and see if such a notice was in fact sent.
