We all enjoyed our time with Canyons when they took us on a slip-sliding adventure down some of Gunma's waterfalls. Well, now that winter has come upon us, they are once again offering similar adventures...only on the snow and w/o a wetsuit.

2 nights accommodation with breakfast and ski passes for 2 days just 16,000JPY per person (private room) [or 14,500JPY in a dormitory room]
Catch the 2052 bullet train from Tokyo and we'll be waiting for you at Jomo Kogen station to take you back to the lodge. After an energy packed breakfast you are ready to hit the resort first thing to get a full day on the slopes. Entertainment on Saturday nights or the Okutone nighta until midnight. A full day riding on Sunday before heading back to the capital to kill time until the next snow trip.

Orphan's Christmas - 20th December
So you have to work over the festive period? No reason to miss out on all the fun. Come up to the lodge and hang out with all the other homeless orphan's. Spend a white Christmas shredding the mountains, soaking in an onsen and then having a traditional Christmas feast with all the trimmings.

Special early season deal: stay one night on either 5th/6th December and receive a free half day group ski/board lesson.

AND FOR THOSE NEW TO SNOW SPORTS:
I'm an ex-Niigata JET now working for the ski school at Canyons in
Minakami, Gunma. We were thinking of running a few beginners ski and
snowboard clinics for all those that haven't hit the slopes before. We'll
lay on the instructors and then for just ￥2000 per person they will get a
half day lesson in the discipline of their choice. I know from experience
that most people just go out and give at a go, or get a friend to give them
a few pointers, but if anyone wants a solid foundation, this would be a
great value opportunity for them and set them up for a fantastic winter of
exploring the resorts.

We can also arrange accommodation with breakfast at the lodge, passes and
rental should anyone need. This would be 10,000JPY or 8,000JPY without
rental equipment.

We are thinking of running this on the weekend of 13th/14th December (though
the weekend before could be a possibility if the snow cooperates.)
