Oigami Onsen - 老神温泉

Location Description:

Oigami Onsen is located on the banks of the Katashina River, four kilometers south of Fukiware Falls. There are 19 places to stay around the springs.

Oigami Onsen has long been a prosperous hot spring resort visited for the curative properties of its waters. The waters of these alkaline springs range from 40～65℃. As the waters are thought to be good for the skin, the onsen has earned the nickname 'Bijin no Yu,' the waters of beautiful people.

The onsen is renowned for both its numerous rotenburo (open-air baths) and for its morning market that sells seasonal mountain herbs and vegetables straight from the mountainside.

In the summer it is also possible to take a bus from the onsen to Oze marsh.

Location Directions:

by Train
Take the Jouetsu Line to Numata Station. You can catch a Kanetsu Bus from there. It takes about fifty minutes.

by Car
Head north for about 18km on the 120 from the Numata I.C. Turn right when you see the 老神2K-> sign. (Sign 4 on this page.)
