This small reminder that CLAIR has extended the deadline for the 2009 JET Journal. The previous deadline was Friday, March 13th, 2009 but we have decided to extend that for two weeks! The new deadline is Friday, March 27th, 2009. Those of you who sent in theirs early, we thank you greatly for your contribution.

 

What is the JET Journal? Here are the details.

 

The JET Journal is a yearly publication that showcases the creativity of the JET community. Through a compilation of essays and other written pieces as well as photos and original artwork, the JET Journal depicts internationalisation in Japan through the eyes of those acquainted with the JET Programme.

 

CLAIR would like to formally announce that we are accepting submissions for the 2009 edition of the JET Journal, set to be published in July of this year. Not only current and former JET participants, but also supervisors, teachers, students and others associated with the JET Programme are encouraged to share their written pieces and/or images.

 

Please attach a completed “2009 JET Journal Submission Form” with any submission. The form is available on the JET Programme website: www.jetprogramme.org.

 

The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 27. All submissions become the property of CLAIR and will not be returned. Please carefully follow the instructions for submissions outlined below:

 

1) Written pieces (e.g. essays, poems, short stories)

Please submit in Microsoft Word format by email to jet-submit@clair.or.jp. or post the file on CD-rom to CLAIR (address below). For submissions in languages other than English or Japanese, please include a translation in either English or Japanese.

 

2) Images (e.g. photos, illustrations)

Please submit a print of the image or image data on CD-rom and post to CLAIR. (Be sure to include prints of all CD-rom contents.) Also, please include a title for each photo you submit. Please note that images submitted by email will not be accepted. These images will appear in print and also on the JET Programme website. CLAIR asks that pictures featuring peoples’ faces only be submitted after gaining permission from each and every individual in the photograph. If the image includes a minor, please get permission from a parent or guardian. For help, please contact your JET Supervisor.
