Vanessa OguchiSubmitted by 浅間天狗 on Mon, 2005/10/10 - 09:02.
I came across a web site that features photographs taken in Gunma. Turns out that the photographer is a former JET. Some of you might know Jennifer Oguchi, former JET from Shirasawa Village in Gunma and native of Vancouver, Canada. Jennifer now resides in Tokyo. Her photography, as you can see from her website, "photobotic," and the samples (in-line links from that web site) below, continue to sparkle. The photos on Jennifer's site have special appeal to Gunma JETs because most were shot down home in the -ken (so to speak). "Student line-up" Daruma...during Setsubun no hi. Enkai in minakami "Here are some of the brattiest boys i have ever taught in my village. they often try to come into my house to see if i live with anyone. I love how the term "privacy" is also used in japanese as 'puraibashi.'" ____________________ You can reach Vanessa via email (and purchase prints of her photographs) by contacting her at vanessa@photobotic.com Also check out comingupforair.netwhere Jennifer has partnered with illustrator Matthew Forsythe.
