Help at Christmas - Please readSubmitted by GAJET Pres on Mon, 2007/12/10 - 09:50.
Hey all, "the most wonderful time of the year" is almost upon us, and this year, GAJET is trying out a new idea to help those who forget about it until it's too late to make plans. Living in Japan can at times be difficult, and Christian or not, many of us come from countries where Christianity is a primary religion. Even if you're not religious, it's likely that usually you'd spend Christmas with family (certainly not alone in any case), but the nature of being an ALT, especially in an outbound region, can result in some people having a very lonely time of it. This year, GAJET would like to help anyone stuck in this situation. If you're alone at Christmas, and don't want to be, we'd like to do our best to help you out. It could be for one of any number of reasons. You may just be too busy, you may have had plans that fell through, or have intended to go on a trip that never really materialised, or perhaps many people you know are going home and you either don't want to or couldn't afford to. If you're in this situation, don't just suffer in silence - please talk to your region rep, or email me at gajetpres --AT-- gmail --DOT-- com, and I'll try and put you in touch with your rep (remember to specify what region of Gunma you're in). All requests will be confidential to the maximum degree possible. Obviously we can't guarantee that we'll be able to help - but we'll do the best we can. »
