Event Information:

Do you know a Japanese teacher of a second language who is just great at what they do?　From January 15th 2008 to February 13th 2008, National AJET will administer the Teaching Awards Programme (TAP) to recognize those outstanding Japanese teachers.

Do you know someone who deserves special recognition for their dedication to increasing international awareness in your community? National AJET also administers the Internationalization Awards Programme (IAP), in order to recognize the efforts of those people.

Cash Money

Incentives:
1. There are cash prizes.
2. In the past, winners' schools and cities have publicized the recipients' award in newspapers, celebrations, and such. It helps to encourage good teaching and internationalization.
3. Makes folks feel good.

Yes, past JETs can nominate for the time when they were a JET. That means you can nominate the teachers and folks you worked with in Numata.

Deadline approaching

Just a reminder that the nominations for these awards are due a week from tomorrow.

Two award recipients will be chosen (1 from Western Japan and 1 from Eastern Japan) and will receive a letter of recognition, a certificate of achievement, and a 10,000-yen cash prize. Four will be given honorable mention and will receive a certificate of achievement only. All those nominated will receive a letter of recognition sent by the National AJET Education Liaison announcing their nomination by a JET Programme participant for the award. In the case of the Teaching Award, the letter of recognition will be sent to the principal of their respective schools.
