Le Chat Noir: Entertainment, Art and Culture in Paris 1880-1910
Paris in the late 1800s was a unique time as the city went through 2 different periods: the
decadence of the end of the century and the Belle Epoque. Le Chat Noir was an entertainment
house opened in 1881 which soon became a home for rising artists. The collection, on display
at the Museum of Modern Art until March 25th , displays the avant-garde art that was born in Le
Chat Noir. The exhibition includes paintings, posters and photographs.
Gunma’s Glassworks Exhibition
Artisans from Haruna Glass and Joetsu Crystal will display their beautiful artwork at the
Prefectural Museum of Modern Art until March 25th. Come and see the talent of Gunma.

It’s that time of year. Time for Girls Day and the beautiful Hina doll displays.
From today until March 4th, over 2000 Hina dolls will be displayed in Tatebayashi throughout
the city. This is the 11th annual Ohina-sama Festival in Tatebayashi. Come and see the
exquisite craftsmanship and enjoy the festivities. The displays can be seen from 10am to
3:30pm.

On February 19th and March 4th , the Tsumagoi Interpreter, a nature-loving group that hosts
hikes and outdoor events throughout the year, is holding a Fun in the Snow and Snowshoeing
day. Come and join in on the fun and maybe try your hand at snowshoeing.
On the 19th, they will go to Kago no To Mountain, and on the 4th, they will go to Shirane
