Lesson Time Length: N/A Lesson Point: Know what your students are learning. Lesson Plan: This is a link to the MEXT guidelines for foreign language study. These guidelines are from 2003 but I believe they have not changed. By reviewing this information, it should give ALTs a better understanding of the foreign language learning goals at your school, sentence patterns, grammar, and situations in which foreign language use is determined useful. Lesson Time Length: 10~15 min Lesson Point: Time Lesson Plan: There are three levels of time BINGO included in the attachments. These are intended as supplementary materials to be used after the children have been taught how to read time in English. For all levels, it is suggested that you have the children ask "What time is it?" in English before giving them the time. Level 0 Level 1 Level 2 Time Length: Lesson Point: The Plan: Color BingoSubmitted by cyangoose on Mon, 2005/10/10 - 14:30.
Lesson Time Length: 10-15 min depending on grade level Lesson Point: Colors Lesson Plan: This is a supplemental activity to any lesson on colors. Any grade of elementary school students can do it. It will take far less time with sixth graders than first graders though. Hand out the attached worksheet and tell the students you are going to play color bingo. While most older students will understand the rules, first, second, and possibly third graders will need the rules for bingo explained to them. Points to explain are that you can only use a color one time (younger students may have some trouble with this), that if you don't color a butterfly it is the color white, that all the butterflies must be colored, and that if you get three in a row/column or diagonally then you have bingo and have won. It should be noted that most sixth graders do not have crayons etc. that they carry around all the time. If you want to do color bingo with grade five or six students you should mention to the teacher that the kids will need to have coloring tools available. The youngest students may also benefit from guided coloring. Have the students get out all the needed colors to make sure they have the correct ones and then go through each of the colors one by one and color together. Time Length: Lesson Point: The Plan: |
